About Paper, About Love, About Time — The Story of Quill & Oak
In a digital world, we still believe in the power of paper.
When your fingertips touch the texture of paper, when a pen glides across its surface, when a letter is opened, a card is unfolded, a sentence is read aloud and savored — in that moment, time slows down.
Our story began in 1998.
Back then, the internet had not yet woven itself into every corner of life. People wrote letters. They sent cards. They kept diaries on paper. In a modest workshop, we began doing one simple thing: making paper products that carry words.
From basic printing to design, to creative stationery, to three-dimensional paper art — we've spent more than two decades walking this path.
Twenty years. Long enough for a baby to grow into an adult. Long enough for a sapling to become a sheltering tree. And long enough for a group of people to master a craft until it runs in their veins.
Paper Holds Culture. Paper Holds Understanding.
Over these twenty-odd years, we've partnered with many cultural and creative companies — from museum gift shops and art exhibition merchandisers to independent publishers and designer brands. We've been part of many projects that make culture tangible.
Through this journey, we came to understand one thing:
Paper is never just a carrier. It is a language in itself. Its weight, its grain, its finish, the sound it makes when you turn a page — every detail speaks.
We pour that understanding into every product we make.
The thickness of a greeting card. The binding of a journal. The way light filters through a sheet of paper. These details are our conversation with our clients. No explanation needed. Those who understand, simply know.
And it's because of these details that we've earned recognition within the industry. But more than awards and recognition, what truly matters are the people who use our products — and what they've given us in return.
Paper Holds Stories. Paper Holds Love.
Over the years, we've gathered a community of customers and enthusiasts. They are not just "customers." They are fellow travelers.
They use our paper to document their lives:
A young woman bought a blank journal. Three years later, she sent us a photo — inside its pages, she had written her love diary, day by day. The final entries were wedding planning notes.
A mother buys our cards every year to send birthday wishes to her daughter living abroad. She said: "Digital wishes are seen and forgotten. Words on paper? She keeps them all."
An elderly gentleman came to us for custom cards. "This year marks our 50th wedding anniversary," he said. "I want to write a letter to everyone who witnessed our love."
These stories are not ours to claim. But we feel deeply honored to be part of them.
— Stories of love, of understanding, of patience and forgiveness — written one word at a time, on paper we made, then sent across the world.
Why "Quill & Oak"?
Quill: the feather pen. Humanity's oldest intimate companion in the act of writing.
Oak: the tree. Strength. Rootedness. Something that withstands the passage of time.
This name is our aspiration.
We have never wanted to produce fast. We want paper products to return to what they were meant to be — warm, substantial, and worth keeping.
Today
More than two decades have passed. Much has changed.
Design tools have evolved from hand sketches to digital tablets. Communication has shifted from phone calls to instant messages. Even the act of "writing a letter" has become something close to a ritual — rare, and therefore precious.
But some things have not changed.
Words on paper still weigh more than words on a screen. Handwritten letters still feel closer to the heartbeat than typed ones. A greeting card that springs into a three-dimensional paper sculpture still makes the recipient gasp with delight.
We are still that workshop from 1998. We've simply moved it online, hoping to be seen by more people.
Whether you're looking for the perfect card for someone you love, a journal to hold the fragments of your days, or a custom paper creation that is uniquely yours — we are here.
From paper, with faith. From the heart, with promise.
Welcome. We hope you'll become part of our next story.
